What is prohibited
Do not create, possess for sharing, upload, distribute, solicit, promote or facilitate child sexual abuse material or sexual exploitation. Prohibitions apply to real, manipulated, illustrated and computer-generated depictions where they sexualise or exploit children. No claim of humour, consent or educational intent permits sexual exploitation.
- Sexual images or videos involving children, and links or instructions for obtaining abuse material.
- Grooming, sexual conversations intended to exploit a child, requests for sexual images, or arranging sexual contact.
- Sextortion, threats to expose intimate content, coercion, trafficking or offers of money or benefits for sexual conduct.
- Sexualised comments targeting children, predatory collection of children’s images or attempts to move a child to another service for exploitation.
- Accounts, groups or transactions that organise, normalise or facilitate child sexual abuse.
How to report safely
Use the in-app Report action and the child-safety or sexual-exploitation category where available. You can also contact [email protected] with the subject Yupzap child safety. Provide a username, content identifier or link and a brief description of the concern.
Do not download, forward, attach or email suspected child sexual abuse material. Do not ask a child to resend it or investigate the suspected offender yourself. Preserve safe identifiers and the context needed for an appropriate report, without creating further copies of illegal material.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or police. Reporting to Yupzap does not replace a report you are legally required to make to the relevant authority. A child seeking help should be treated respectfully and should not be blamed for coercion or abuse.
Protective action and lawful reporting
Child-safety concerns require priority review and appropriate protective action. Responses can include disabling access to suspected prohibited material, restricting relevant accounts, preventing further distribution and escalating the matter for review. A complaint should be assessed promptly; evidence of urgent risk can justify action before a complete investigation.
Information indicating an offence must be reported to the competent authority when applicable law requires it. Reporting duties can arise from knowledge or apprehension of an offence; they are not limited to cases already finally confirmed by Yupzap. Relevant records may need to be preserved for a lawful investigation.
Access to sensitive reports and preserved evidence should be limited to those who need it for the response or a legal obligation. Do not expect the platform to disclose a child’s identity, reporter details or investigative evidence to a person requesting an appeal.
Age requirements and support for families
Yupzap is intended for people aged at least 13 and any higher local minimum age. Where parental or guardian consent and additional protections are legally required for someone under 18, those requirements must be met. Do not create an account using a false date of birth or another person’s identity.
A parent, guardian or young person can contact support about an underage account, an unsafe interaction or a privacy request. We may need proportionate information to verify the account relationship and protect the child’s privacy. Do not email identity documents unless a safe, necessary verification process has been explained.
Review available audience, contact and blocking controls together. Avoid publishing school details, home addresses, daily routines or other information that could expose a child to unwanted contact. These precautions do not shift responsibility for abuse onto a child or family.
Review, accountability and contact
If you believe a restriction was mistaken, use Account status where available or contact support with the decision reference and relevant explanation. Appeals must not contain copies of abuse material. A restriction can remain in place while necessary for safety or a binding legal requirement.
Send child-safety concerns to [email protected] or contact our Grievance Officer, Mr. Amit Sharma, at [email protected]. Clearly identify the child-safety concern without attaching abuse material. Applicable rights to approach police, child-protection authorities, statutory grievance mechanisms or courts remain available.
